No, this is an elective ultrasound which has the purpose of helping families bond with their unborn baby. Your doctor will facilitate your diagnostic ultrasound for determining due date and any abnormalities. Therefore it is important that you are currently receiving prenatal care and if you have any concerns, you reach out to your doctor.

It is fun to see baby as a whole from 23-26 weeks and then again at 27-33 weeks to see more detailed facial features. After 34 weeks, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good images as baby’s space is getting crowded. Every baby scans differently, depending on gestational age, baby position, amount of fluid, and mother’s body habitus. However, I am always willing to try my best to get some amazing images of your baby/babies!
